Barcelona with children

I

Summary
Barcelona is the ideal place for a holiday with all the family. Come and discover a warm, welcoming city with the best infrastructure for families, where the little ones will be looked after like nowhere else. The notion of family has a deep-rooted importance in the Barcelonan way of life, and you will feel right at home from the moment you arrive.

If you think that holidaying with children is going to be too much trouble, then think again, as Barcelona has loads of fun activities to keep your family entertained from the moment you arrive and what's more, you may even run short of time to take it all in. Recharge your batteries, relax and enjoy along with your children.

Step into one of Barcelona's most popular parks like Park Guell which would take at least half a day to visit, or let the kids have a ball at the Activ Natura Adventure Park which includes activities such as archery, woodland course, quad bikes and paintball.

Barcelona has its own beaches which are great for children, the best beaches for children are a short journey up or down the coast to larger and cleaner beaches where there is more space and it is safer for them to play.

Just 90 minutes South of Barcelona is Catalonia's answer to Disney. There are five different theme areas (Catalonia, China, Polynesia, Mexico and the Wild West) and a wide variety of rides to suit everyone, including the Dragon Khan ( largest roller coaster in Europe ) for any real adrenalin junkies.

Your family will definitely enjoy a trip to the Barcelona zoo, situated in the Parc de La Ciutadella. The zoo has guided tours and workshops for children. On the other hand why not try El Parc de les Aus which is a different type of sanctuary, home to over 300 exotic bird species and lush vegetation. To top it all visit Tibidabo, an entertainment park of the highest order which will keep your loved ones totally engrossed with lots of fun activities and try the Aquarium of Barcelona which was opened its doors in 1995. It is situated in the Port Vell of Barcelona. The aquarium is a magical and mysterious world with about 11,000 animals of approximately 450 different species. The star of the aquarium is the "Oceanarium" aquarium, unique in Europe, with two different specimens of sharks, moon fish, moranes and sea breams. A spectacular transparent tunnel takes the visitor below the water and the visitor has a sensation to be at the bottom of the sea. Besides the information about the world of the oceans, the aquarium is a unique experience for children and adults.
